Seed coating with biostimulants: aimed at a strong cultivation start

A biostimulant in a seed coating is not traditional protection against diseases or pests, but a means that stimulates plant growth and tolerance to abiotic stress. These substances – such as microorganisms, plant extracts, and fulvic acids – enhance germination, root development, and nutrient uptake, resulting in a vital start for the crop. However, for successful application via seed coating, careful formulation, seed safety, compatibility, and effectiveness are essential. Not every biostimulant or seed coating is suitable for this. Only with the right combination can growers benefit from the advantages and contribute to a more sustainable cultivation system.
