Sanifruit will hold a technical conference on the post-harvest of tomatoes, peppers, and zucchini on May 8 at Coexphal's Technological Innovation Center in La Mojonera (Almería). The goal is to show export companies how they can extend the shelf life of these crops with natural and effective post-harvest solutions. Technical experts in post-harvesting will also attend.
Antonio Mena, the Territorial Agriculture of Almeria delegate, will open the event.
Juan Carlos Pérez Mesa, co-director of the Coexphal-UAL Chair, will speak about Almeria's post-harvest sector's expectations and challenges.
Then, Juan Luis Valenzuela Manjón-Cabeza, Professor of Plant Physiology at the University of Almeria, will speak about post-harvesting in vegetables.
Sandra Mañas, Sanifruit Innovation Technician, will follow with a presentation on tomato post-harvest, analyzing data from the results of SaniTomato customer trials.
Laura María Hidalgo and Rebeca Ramos, from the Tecnova Technology Department, will explain how to process pepper for a successful post-harvest. After this, they'll explain how to process zucchini.
Sanifruit's CEO, Javier Biel, will present the company's Post-harvest Program and end the day with a brief reflection.
The day will be divided into two and include a coffee break. Attendees must register in advance as seating is limited.
