HidroBio has become the first Paraguayan company in the hydroponic sector to join AL-Invest Verde, a European Union program promoting the transition to a green economy. This milestone marks a new chapter for HidroBio, deepening its commitment to sustainability and responsible agriculture.
Through AL-Invest Verde, HidroBio will gain access to strategic resources including technical assistance, international cooperation, and green loans—tools that will support its efforts in advancing sustainable practices and enhancing its operations in the hydroponic sector.
By participating in AL-Invest Verde, HidroBio unlocks a suite of high-impact benefits that support both company growth and the broader hydroponic sector. These benefits include international partnerships with sustainability-driven organizations, expert technical assistance to refine processes and technology, and expanded professional networks within the green economy space. Additionally, HidroBio gains access to green loans for infrastructure upgrades and market expansion.
Scaling impact across the agri-food ecosystem
Initiatives like AL-Invest Verde drive transformation beyond the participating businesses, creating a ripple effect across the entire agri-food value chain by fostering innovation, environmental stewardship, and collaborative solutions to future challenges.
During a recent visit, Martín Wolyniec, a consultant for AL-Invest Verde, toured HidroBio's greenhouse and logistics hub to learn more about its operations and identify strategies to maximize sustainability outcomes.
"Several agricultural companies in Paraguay are now part of AL-Invest Verde, helping promote more sustainable and efficient farming practices. HidroBio's inclusion—as the first in the hydroponic sector—adds a valuable new dimension to the program, introducing innovative production models that directly address today's environmental challenges," noted Wolyniec.
Transitioning to low-carbon agriculture
HidroBio is redefining the way food is grown—cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable. With advanced hydroponic systems, the company optimizes water use, protects natural soil ecosystems, and efficiently manages essential nutrients to reduce waste and environmental impact.
By prioritizing local production, HidroBio also significantly reduces emissions associated with long-distance transportation. Every step in its production process is designed to minimize carbon footprint, proving that responsible farming is not just a choice—it's the future.
