Asparagus down 23%, strawberries up 4% in weekly price shift

In the most recent market data, Bramley's Seedling apples recorded an average price of £1.39 per kilogram, down from the previous week's average of £1.44. This marks a weekly decrease of £0.05, representing a 3% decline. Similarly, Other Late Season apples experienced a more notable price drop, with the current average standing at £1.50 per kilogram compared to £1.73 the previous week. This represents a £0.23 decrease and a 13% fall in price.

Strawberries showed a contrasting trend, with prices increasing. The current average price for strawberries rose to £7.52 per kilogram, up from £7.21 the previous week. This £0.31 increase equates to a 4% rise in weekly pricing. The price range for strawberries this week extended from £4.80 to £11.45 per kilogram, indicating varied pricing across different sellers or product types.

Asparagus saw the largest percentage drop among the listed commodities. The average price this week is £7.77 per kilogram, compared to £10.14 the previous week. This decrease of £2.37 reflects a 23% drop in weekly price. The wide price range, from £0.70 to £14.00 per kilogram, suggests substantial variation in pricing depending on supply and type.
