Following the conclusion of the EU-Zimbabwe Business Forum in Harare, the Zimbabwean blueberry market is looking to continue its exports into the EU. The aim of the conference was to strengthen trade and investment ties with a particular focus on sectors such as horticulture, and it has now been confirmed that Zimbabwe has tariff-free access to the EU market.
Zimbabwe, the world's fastest-growing blueberry market, is also focusing on exports to China later this year, while its exports into nations such as Singapore and Vietnam have remained steady over the last 12 months.
The focus on European markets will be primarily in Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. While the logistics behind such rapid expansion of the blueberry industry remain a challenge, local growers are convinced that they will be able to move forward with minimal problems.
