Dutch train operator NS has announced a strike for Tuesday, June 10, affecting Western Netherlands. This includes the Amsterdam area and is expected to cause major disruptions to public transportation — just as GreenTech kicks off that morning in RAI Convention Centre, Amsterdam, and the FlowerTrials also start.
Between Amsterdam Central Station and Schiphol Airport, a reduced train service will be in place with 4 trains per hour.
The Amsterdam Metro system is not affected by the strike. Metro line 52 and Tram 4 both stop directly in front of the RAI Convention Centre and provide easy access to the city center.
Train services are also disrupted today, Friday.
In addition, a separate strike is planned for Thursday, June 13, affecting only the Eastern Netherlands. This is not expected to impact train travel in and around Amsterdam.
Travelers attending GreenTech or visiting the city next week are advised to plan accordingly and explore alternative transport options.
